Now, for my story…
My name is Kelly DeSola and I’m the CEO of Turn of Phrase LLC. I have 20 years of experience as a marketing copywriter, content consultant, and editor. Along the way I’ve had the chance to create engaging, persuasive copy for print, radio, television and the web.
I’ve written for a variety of industries including business, non-profit, education, and publishing, and I’m well-versed in connecting brand stories with the right target audience. Whether you’d like to convey a tone that’s authoritative, educational, or more whimsical, I’ll help ensure that you get exactly what you’re looking for.
At the end of December of 2018, I left a part-time position as the Content Marketing & Engagement Manager for McGraw-Hill Education’s Business Blog to launch my freelance business full-time. Prior to leaving, I helped re-launch the blog, created and implemented a style guide, developed annual content calendars, sourced and edited blog content, optimized the blog for search, and published all of the posts in WordPress. I also created monthly newsletters to highlight new content, authors, and promotions, and handled the social media for the blog.
For the past five years I’ve done freelance copy and content writing for Education Dynamics, its web properties, and its clients in post-secondary education. Prior to becoming a consultant, I worked for the company as a full-time Senior Copywriter. At the same time I also worked as a freelance Content Marketer & Marketing Copywriter for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), where I focused on web copy, blog posts, advertising, and email campaigns to engage donors and raise money for type 1 diabetes research.
In October of 2019, I took on the role of Social Media Manager for Swell Marketing Partners, where I’m responsible for creating the company’s social media strategy and content calendar; writing, designing and posting content; and reporting on analytics.
I want to help you bring your brand’s story to life. Still have questions?
